Glass Nickel location could become apartments

As the west side Glass Nickel Pizza Co. plans to move to a new location in Middleton within the next year, its current location — part of a collection of buildings in a triangular space at University Avenue, North Whitney Way and Old Middleton Road — is pegged for redevelopment. 

Galway Companies has plans to redevelop the area with about 500 apartments and commercial space, according to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Galway Companies, a Monona developer, presented its redevelopment plans to the city of Madison’s Urban Design Commission on Wednesday.

Preliminary plans also call for 6,000 square feet of commercial space at the corner of University Avenue and Whitney Way...
