![]() The Art-Deco-style State Office Building at 1 W. Wilson St. is up for sale in a bid to reduce the state’s physical footprint in downtown Madison, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. The building most recently housed the state Department of Health Services. Bids for the building will be open through mid-March. The state is intent on selling three buildings within a block or two from the state Capitol building. It would save around $7.4 million annually in operating costs and $541 million in deferred maintenance costs... ...more RSK: You knew this was coming at some point. The old historic building has a ton of deferred maintenance. Conversion to hotel or apartments would be costly and being historic will be hard to demo it. Be interesting to see what comes about. | ||
