New Cottage Grove Amazon distribution facility set to break ground in September


MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - After a two year delay, a new Amazon distribution facility in Cottage Grove is breaking ground this September. The 3 million square-foot facility will be located at the intersection of highways N and TT.

The distribution center is expected to generate more than $5 million in property taxes each year and will provide between 1,000 to 1,500 jobs. Amazon economic development manager Jason Vangalis said the facility will also play a part in regionalizing deliveries.

”We regionalized our network, so before when you would purchase anything from Amazon, it might come from Phoenix. It was ‘how quickly can we get it to you’? Now it’s a 6 to8 regions market, so its going to come from within a 4 to 5 state region,” said Vangalis.

Following the delays, the building agreement was amended, extending the completion deadline from 2026 to 2028...
