The rapid transition to electric vehicles in the U.S., driven by government incentives, consumer sustainability demand, and rising gas prices, is increasing the need for EV charging stations, making them essential amenities for apartment communities. The transition to electric vehicles (EVs) is accelerating rapidly. In the United States, nearly a quarter of all cars purchased last year were either fully electric or plug-in hybrids, a trend that is only expected to grow. The federal government aims for EVs to represent 50% of all new car sales by 2030. States like California are even more ambitious, mandating that all of the almost two million vehicles sold in the state annually must be zero-emission by 2035. Government incentives, consumer demand for sustainability, and rising gas prices continue to drive EV popularity. As a result, the need for electric vehicle chargers is soaring. RSK: It does not say who is paying for the electricity when they use the charging stations. Is it the landlord who then spreads the cost out to all tenants (which wouldn`t be fair to those who do not have an EV) or does the person charging pay for it via credit card etc?
