Chicago releases plan for reopening restaurants, leaving NYC in the dust


New York is getting lapped on restaurant reopenings by a city that can’t even do pizza right.

Chicago has released a 13-page list of guidelines for how its eateries can safely resume on-premises service amid the coronavirus pandemic, while Big Apple Mayor Bill de Blasio remains short on answers.

RSK: I still believe that if you have or can create outdoor dining space (such as with less customers and capacity you may be able to use parking outdoor venues...rooftops etc. ) you will have a better chance of making it through this. Have your local restaurant Assoc. petition the city to close down some non-essential streets for dining for a few hours...whatever it takes. Our Mayor here in Madison just opened things up.... no application fees etc. for sidewalk cafe expansion. Just submit your plan. She also opened up "Cafe Zoned Streets". It is a start.
